Laura Clarke


From a young age I have always been involved in all sorts of sports from horse riding, hockey, athletics, gymnastics, swimming…. the list goes on. I have always tried to be involved in some sort of fitness, and used to be a “globo-gym” goer, many times a week. It was only when I finished university in summer 2013 that a friend introduced me to CrossFit and I fell in love with it

From the moment I walked through the door I felt really welcomed by the whole community and made so many friends, that have literally become my second family. This is one of the main reasons I wanted to be involved in coaching so that I could make sure every new member feels just as welcome as I did when I joined

I absolutely love assistant coaching the classes and helping members reach their goals whatever they might be! The atmosphere and vibe on the WOD floor is fab and I love seeing other members come away from a session feeling really chuffed with themselves

Since joining I have got really involved with the competitive side of things taking part in many competitions such as Wild West, Tribal Clash, Battle of the Midlands. The highlight so far for me was managing to qualify for the British Championships – never mind finishing almost 40 places higher than what I qualified! I hope that one day I might make it to regionals too!
